Common dolphins are found worldwide in warm or tropical seas. Dolphins must come to the surface for air to be able to breathe. The dolphins breathes through an opening on top of the head called a blowhole. This permits the dolphin to breathe while swimming at full speed. In their natural state they are as free-living and untamed as deer or wolves. There is a belief that dolphins will save a drowning person.
